blog#20

Today’s experience was good and useful for our upcoming essay. It was a Comparison Contrast Worksheet in class. Also as an entire class we discussed what facebook and myspace have to offer that are alike and different. The whole class was involved in discussing what each website had to offer. For like 10 minutes we brainstormed individually what each website had that the other did not have or did have. Some things that Facebook has that myspace doesn’t is Farmville, Aquarium, Awards, Survey Questions to your friends, a wall to post things about your or others. Then Myspace has some things Facebook doesn’t have such as decorating your profile, Search for Jobs, Bulletins, and Rating the Professor. One by one we just each said something that Myspace or Facebook have to offer. I remember saying that only myspace you can decorate your profile, and then Stephen Collins in my group said that on Myspace you can search for jobs, which I didn’t know. I got a lot of information needed because I didn’t know about that 25+ minds are a lot better than 1 mind. I gained a lot of useful information from this group activity and will use a lot of it in my essay. In terms of responding to two other bloggers we never did that in class so I have no idea what to write about. The rest of the class we asked questions concerning the paper and what exactly we need to have in it. People had questions about the correct MLA format, because a lot of the papers have not had that on the paper. She said a lot of us have learned it, but there are still some students that do it the wrong way. Ms. Crawford also showed us on the green board the lay out of our essay and just things that we need to make sure and have in it. We need to have a strong thesis statement in our opening paragraph about the facebook/myspace essay, or a good topic sentence. Also need to have solid points with the paragraphs that we are writing about. Preferably she wants us to have five-six paragraphs, and as always provide useful information for the reader. Once again we never responded to two other bloggers so I just wrote about the what we did in class, and just what basically happened in the 50 minutes that we were there.

This blog is about what we did in the computer lab today which was to explore the websites named Myspace and Facebook. A lot of the students in our classes had both of them, but of course their were some students that didn’t have one of them, or none of them. I had a myspace for a long time maybe since I was a freshman in high school, but just recently I got a facebook. I thought myspace was the shit, but as soon as I got a facebook, just to me myspace got totally blown out of the picture. When I just had a myspace, everyone would be like make a facebook, so eventually I did. In our English class all we did was just explore the websites, which I did but really didn’t learn anything new since I have had both websites for a while now. I was on facebook most of the time just talking to some of my friends that were online at the time. I didn’t gain too much information, but found out that there are other games on facebook other than Farmville. Also since I had not been on myspace for a pretty long time that now you can search for jobs, and you can rate the professor. Little things here and their that I didn’t know existed on these websites. I gained some useful information that I could use in our upcoming essay comparing and contrasting the likes and differences of facebook and myspace. We were talking in the computer lab about some differences, and how on myspace you can decorate your profile, but on facebook you can not do any of that. Like I said before we just got into the English writing lab, and just explored facebook and myspace. I’m sure it was interesting for the people that didn’t have one of those websites and had to make it and learn it right away. We also had to send a friend request to the English Writing Center so they can be our friends on facebook/myspace. Eventually I saw that they would post things on the wall or profile and show available times for tutoring sessions. I think its neat because you can look from home, and not have to drive 30 minutes like I do just to see if there is an available appointment at the time you are looking to get tutored. Overall though it was a really good experience, and I can not wait to start writing the essay.

The articles and videos we discussed were ‘Killing us Softly 3”; “Dove Evolution”; and “Dove Onslaught”. The articles were “Brazillion Obesity: The Big Girl from Ipanema” and “Health and Fitness: Snip, Suction, Stretch and Truss”.
“Killing Us Softly 3” is just showing examples of things that are basically killing us. How advertising is helping people buy things that we don’t really need, whether it is colognes, exotic clothing, or anything that we really don’t need at all. The advertisements are inappropriate, and the one with Calvin Klein was getting nationally recognized, not for good but for bad. Also how women’s bodies are getting compared to figures such as a coke bottle. How the image of men is getting re-looked at because of these bad boy types of commercials and pictures. Also if two cute babies take a picture it is fine, but not if it is interracial.
“Dove Evolution” is a video of a simple girl without any make up on, then how they completely fix her up for a model shoot. Then they use the computer to fix little things about her, such as extra skin on her neck or make her eyes a little bit bigger. At the end of the video, it says something like “no wonder our eyes for beauty is so distorted”, basically saying that it is ridiculous how there is no more simple beauty anymore, and how people are going to the extreme.
“Dove Onslaught” is a video just showing a little girl, then showing fast pictures of all these models, girls working at the gym and some getting a boob job or liposuction. Then at the end it says “talk to your daughter before the beauty industry does”. Basically it is an advertisement to not let your daughter do that to herself.
“Brazilian Obesity: The Big Girl from Ipanema”, is an article just saying how Brazil is starting to become obese, and if you think there are little figures when you come here, you won’t see a lot of that. It shows facts of how the men and women are becoming obese, and showing percentages. That Brazil is having an expensive future due to many of them wanting to get a stomach reduction or whatever to not be fat anymore.
Last but not least “Health and Fitness: Snip, Suction, Stretch and Truss” is just stating that people are messing with their faces, bodies, etc. How some guys love their athletic body, but their face is not going a long with it, and they pay to fix it. Also they would rather pay a couple of thousand to fix their face or body, rather than get a new car. The men and women just want to look as young as they possibly could, and they will do whatever it takes to make that happen.

The four articles that we discussed in todays class is “Jury Out on Facebook Impact on Grades”; “Colleges Scan Facebook During Admissions”; Facebook sparks Suspicion”; “Does Facebook replace Face Time or Enhance it?” Colleges are looking at the students facebooks who are applying to the colleges university. They are seeing on the students facebook what the student is about. They are seeing his/her profile pictures, the language he replies in to his friends, and what type of friends does the student have. They are all helpful hints to help the colleges see if they are making a good decision on the student being accepted into their university. College universities do not what to accept a student in who is a big time party animal, or somebody who has picture on his/her facebook or myspace, & see them smoking weed, or having pictures of things that they should not be doing. I agree with this, but the thing is you have no idea that the person you are looking at if they are just hiding all the bad things you do. This guy or girl could be the local drug dealer, and you would have no idea because maybe he or her does not put out his or her business through facebook and myspace. I know a lot of people who smoke and drink, and they don’t post pictures or talk about it openly because they don’t want to get fired by work, or the high school programs that they are in find out. “Jury Out on Facebook’s Impact on Grades”, is just saying how Facebook is impacting students grades. I can totally agree with this because from personal experience, I have planned on getting on Facebook for approximately 10 minutes at the max, then I just have conversations with all of my friends. Next thing you know is, is that it has been an hour. Lol! I ended up doing my homework, but there are a lot of students that if this happens to them they won’t end up doing their work. My grades have not dropped or been impacted in a negative way since I made a facebook. “Facebook Sparks Suspicion” is just mainly talking about how other students are becoming suspicious about another person. For example, it stated how a girlfriend could see her boyfriends facebook, and say “who is this girl?” You can find out a lot from facebook, and you can foretell things that are going to happen. Relationships can go down the drain, because one of the people in the relationship can think wrong if the opposite sex is talking to another guy/girl. This article is just saying how facebook is sparking suspicion from everybody. Last but not least, “Does Facebook Replace Face Time or Enhance it?” The answer is it enhances it. This website Facebook used to be only for college students, and now everyone from high school, to 40 year old parents have a facebook. Also how people feel younger by using it. Possibly some people dropping cell phones for facebook. I would never do that ever, but that is their decision. Facebook is just helping the older folks feel younger again, and keeping in contact with old friends. Those are the 4 articles we discussed in class.

I thought it was cool being able to comment other people’s blogs. I enjoyed being able to see how other people answer to the blog questions that you ask us to write about. I put comments telling them how I liked it and gave them insight from my style of writing. Although it was good being able to get writing ideas from their point of view. Everybody has a different style of writing or ideas, so while you give them your opinion you learn new things as your reading theirs. I didn’t feel bad about commenting them, because I didn’t criticize their writing, or said something harsh in their comment box. All I did was read their blog and tell them how I feel about their journal entry. It is kind of cool being able to comment other peoples writing. I enjoy reading the comments of what people say about my blogs. I didn’t get criticized. Lol. They agreed with what I was saying and gave some positive feedback. It is good seeing what they think of my article. It is helpful knowing what people think of your blogs, and it will only make you a better writer in the future.

Blog #13

Today in class we discussed a time line of our descriptive essay with Mrs. Crawford and a team member from our group. She told us how we should be very descriptive in our writing. For example, instead of “The cat ran down the street”, you could say “The black with brown spots cat ran furiously down the street”. Like she said you have a more visual picture in your head with the second example, rather than your first. You really just want to be describing with good details the video that you pick, if someone were reading your paper about the vlog you picked you want them to be able to have a clear visual picture in their head. You want to have all your senses in the essay, and if you don’t know them they are sound, taste, feeling, smell, sight. Sound you want to use voice, background. Taste you really can’t do unless the video is over food. Feeling you want to describe the emotion’s the person is using. Smell you most likely won’t use, and sight to describe the persons background. Mrs. Crawford told us that for the beginning you want to use sound, visual, and feeling. Preferably the best length of the video is 5-6 minutes. Before she had explained how to write the essay, I thought it was one of those 6 paragraphs that I use to write in middle school and high school. After she told us how it was going to be written, it seemed a lot easier to me. All you really do is talk about the video and just describe what he or she is doing. The girl is riding a bike, you can add her emotions, race, how fast, what kind of bike. It is all about creating a vision for the reader. The timeline helped because it is a guide that shows you where to put the ideas in your essay. For example, if you have 6 paragraphs, the third and fourth are the middle paragraphs. Definitely the time line helped me a lot because it changed the outlook I had of what we were having to do.

The You Tube video “An Anthropological Introduction to You Tube: by Mike Wesch talks about the popularity of You Tube. Mike says that people view You Tube more than the TV network NBC. There is a video of this popular song that people enjoy in one country, and then people in Korea or Japan animate the song. He says that web links everybody mainly people. Also he communicated with somebody from Africa to put a video onto the page he was making. He is a teacher and has about 10 students. In classes they’ll talk about You Tube. Surprisingly 35+ men and women are the ones that upload videos the most. He shows “Charlie bit my finger”, which is a baby who has the coolest accent ever. Lol! Then about the song “Soulja Boy”, and shows how quickly people all over the world watch these videos, and then make remixes to the videos. Also people about web cams, and when you talk you’re sizing up the context and you don’t know when you’re getting watched. Mike then talks about vlogs, which are video blogs. I noticed how people are nervous doing it for the first time. People in the videos were stuttering and did not really know what to say. You Tube has sections of most viewed, top rated, because people will try to be stars of You Tube. There are so many different types of videos on You Tube, you can look up anything and most likely they will have a video about it. Whatever you can think of, You Tube will have it. You Tube has brought the world together, people communicate and comment videos from Japan, Korea, Africa. Its awesome to me how people can communicate with each other from all over the world. This man credits You Tube for bringing his life back, and You Tube has helped people a lot. If you are ever sad, you can watch “Charlie Bit My Finger”, and I’m definitely positive that it will make you smile. I have my own You Tube video that me and my friends made, and I’ll look at videos of all different things. Sports, hunting, funny videos is what I’ll mainly look at. It is amazing how so many different ideas from the world come onto one website

Blog #10 Difference between blog & email essay

Reflecting on blog #3’s email and the email I am writing are two completely different papers. They are both talking about complaining about your grade. The blog was an email to your friend and the email etiquette essay was to your professor. When you are writing to your friend you can talk in slang, but when you are writing to your professor you need to be precise with what you are talking about. I cursed in the paper to my friend, but I would never think about cursing to my professor. The email etiquette essay was a lot harder because you it required a lot more thought. You need to make sure you had a thesis statement, a good middle paragraph, and a conclusion for your reader to know what you want to happen. The email etiquette takes a lot more thought. A journal is really just off the top of your head nothing to hard or serious. You know the email etiquette essay is serious, when you have to go to the writing center to get your paper checked before you can turn it in. The blog is 300 words with whatever you feel like writing about the topic that is given to you, on the email essay you had to construct a short essay in a way that was not confusing. You didn’t want to repeat, have incorrect grammar, no contractions, basically a lot of things to make your paper bad. Like I previously stated the biggest difference is that in one your writing to your friend, and the other your professor who has the ball in his hands if you are going to pass the class or not! Lol. Definitely a different type of mind when you go into writing these two different papers, but you can easily adapt to whichever one your doing.

Summary of 9/21

On Monday September 22, 2009 in Mrs. Crawford’s class we got into our groups and discussed each one of our email etiquette assignments. There were four people in our group, we were missing Steven. First I read my email, and they critiqued my paper. Each one of them told me something I could do to make my email better. They gave me ideas on how I could add or delete some things. Also when I was reading it out loud to them, I could see my mistakes. I could see things while I was reading, and thought in my head this makes no sense. I guess you don’t see your mistakes when you are writing your paper at 2:30 am, and wanting to go to bed. Lol! Definitely after reading it, I needed to change some things, and go get help from the writing center. This by the way I scheduled for Tuesday at 4:45 pm. Brandon, Daniel, and Richard also read their emails, so what they did for me, I did for them also. Also some ideas popped into my head from their essays that I did not add in mine. We all had work to do on ours; none of ours were perfect like we wanted them to be. You also came into our group, and talked about some things with us. For example, telling us we should include who we are since teachers like yourself have so many students to remember. Also helping Daniel with his paper to make it longer, plus putting more ideas into our papers. We finished doing the group huddle, and you talked to the class about what needs to go in your paper again. I think some of the students were confused on what to do. Anyways you re-stated on what needed to be done, and how we need to schedule an appointment as soon as possible. Other than that you dismissed us, then went on to our next class

Blog #8 Summarization of Friday Articles

The journal today was over the 4 articles that my group, Group #2 presented. The four articles were “The Dating Detectives”, “Getting Back Into It”, “Internet Dating 2.0”, and “Is eHarmony Biased Against Gays?”. The one I talked about in class was “The Dating Detectives”. This article was about this man named Vikas Sharma who started dating someone online. His relationship with whoever this woman is began having a more advance relationship! They would meet up with each other for several months. The bad thing about that is that their was no common link as in no one in the middle of them. He soon hired a detective to see what his potential spouse was doing. He ended up finding out that she had checked into another man in a hotel. Vikas Sharma ended up calling it off with that woman. Detective agencies such as Globe Group have made a lot of business! Dating detective will try to discover as much information as possible from whoever their supposed to find the information from. In India, when your dating somebody from another country you are extra careful who you talk to! That’s why they hire detectives. That’s what the “Dating Detectives” is mainly about.
In “Is eHarmony Biased Against Gay?”, its about people saying eHarmony being biased against gays! Gays are complaining about how on eHarmony there is not an opportunity when you apply to talk men to men, its man seeking woman, and woman seeking man. Neil Clark Warren is the creator of eHarmony and says there is plenty of sites for gays to get on. He says how manhunt has 21, 739 gay men online! I don’t see the big deal, I think John Cloud or whoever the gay guy is overreacting because eHarmony isn’t the only dating website on the internet! If Neil Clark Warren wants to only have men seeking women, viseversa that’s his decision. That’s all I have to say about that article.
“Internet Dating 2.0” is just talking about how all the websites that are available for people to use. Honestly mrs. Crawford I can’t remember this one I don’t have the article, and it won’t open on my computer! Sorry!
Last but not least “Getting Back Into It” talks about how people that have gotten older are getting back into dating and such things. It gives example such as 54 year old Sally Salners dating her 33 year old boyfriend! There are its bad effects of getting back into dating by the internet such as Gale Shamama getting stabbed by the person she met over online! As for me I met my girlfriend over myspace, and we’ve been together a year and a half since then. Other ways of getting back into dating are tagging along with friends and just hanging out with close friends. Another concern is of course HIV and AIDS! Those are some methods on how to get back into dating whether your 20 or 65, and that’s the summarization of “Getting Back Into It”
Finally that’s the end of this journal! Lol That’s what happened in class, and those are the summarizations in my opinion of the articles! Goodnight

Email Etiquette Journal

I learned a lot about the Email Etiquette Assignment we discussed in class today. Personally I thought that their wasn’t a whole lot to do when you are writing an email to someone. You would think that it’s just a simple writing assignment, but it really isn’t! Their are a lot of things you can do to create a good email. The first step for Email format is using the MLA format. It includes double spacing, white paper, black ink, and Times Roman Numeral (12 pt). Also preferably you would like to use 1st or 3rd person such as he, she, they, I, etc. You want to avoid using slang or text messaging language. You want to write it like your writing a email to your professor, not your best friend for five years! When writing your email you want to consider who your audience is going to be. Also the purpose and how much does the person know about the subject. Most important you want to have a developed introduction. Another thing that is very important is fully developed paragraphs, a thesis, and a discussion section. If you don’t know a thesis is a statement of purpose to help the reader understand what your talking about in your email. After your completed body paragraphs, you want to end with a conclusion. The conclusion is mainly you telling the audience of what you want to happen. You don’t want to end your email with words like in conclusion, and finally. What you would like to happen is the reader coming to the same agreement as you do. Like Mrs. Crawford said if your complaining about your grade to an a instructor you want to say “thank for your time”. Then when your done you want to revise it, and you shouldn’t have any grammar errors, sentence errors, correct grammar usage, and no punctuation errors. If you do all the things that I’ve listed in this journal, I can guarantee you a great email assignment!! Thank you for your time to read my journal

Summarizing Two Articles From Group #4

Well today September 11th, 2009 Group #4 presented their four articles to the class, and like last class we discussed all four articles that the group had presented. The four articles that they had were "Where PHones in Class Are Ok", "E Campus News", "How to get schools out of the 20th Century", and finally "Al Gore: Should schools be wired to the internet". They were all interesting articles, but I would like to summarize and discuss two of them. Those two are "Where Phones in Class Are OK" and " E Campus News". "Where Phone in Class Are OK" was a article about students learning how to create apps for the iPhone in class courses. You would never think that their would be a class at a University that was created to make apps for the iPhone. It says that the stupider the app, the more sales you get. For some odd reason people like to have the stupid apps, rather than the important ones! Haha! For example, their is an app which is called the "Party Music Strobe" which shines a strobe light to the beat of any song! Another one was called "DoGood" which is you do a good deed once a day. Believe it or not, this app was downloaded about 500 times a day! Wow! The students that create these apps can net more than 1,000 dollars, only downfall is that Apple keeps about 30% of that. This class is not required, but students take it for the learning experience, a future career, and a way to make money. Last but not least a New Jersey student didn't know what he wanted to do with his life, but turns out now that he is being paid to do apps for the Blackberry! To me its quite amazing how technology is becoming so advanced, and how apps are being created by students like myself! Overall though this article I really enjoyed! The other article that I would like to discuss and summarize about is "E Campus News" about new iPod rules touch off heated debate. This article is saying how the University of Missouri is requiring for incoming students to have an iPhone, iPod, Touch, or something relatively close to that. People are complaining how they are making them buy the devices themselves. At Abilene Christian University, they gave away free iPhone, yet you still had to pay the monthly rate. However at the University of Missouri, you have to pay for the device and the monthly rate! Thats ridiculous in my opinion, what happens if I already have a good phone? Or if I couldn't afford to buy it? Those are questions that I would ask them. Votes pertaining to this argument are 40% in support, and the 60% against it. They do say the $229 charge to buy the device would be in comparison of two or three books. Honestly though, I would hate having to learn off of my iPhone!! I don't think I could be focused enough, and I'm a visual learner not off the phone type. I wouldn't go to a university for that particular reason. Anyways those are summarizations about the two articles, and my point of view. Hope you enjoy it and have a good weekend! :)

Summarizing & Discussing Two Articles

Well today Group #3 discussed the four stories that we had to print out over the internet. All of the stories were interesting, and I enjoyed expressing my opinion with the class. This journal is about summarizing two out of the four articles that we talked about in class. The first one I would like to talk about is the article from Forbes.com about “Reading, Writing, iPhoning.” This is basically talking about certain colleges giving incoming freshman new iphones. Also in classes that you’ll use the iphone to check your syllabi, receive emergency alerts, some professors holding classes online, and tuning into podcasts uploaded by the professor. It’s basically saying your iphone is what you’re going to be using pretty much in your classes. This may seem pretty cool, but at Abilene Christian you have to pay the monthly AT&T bill. Also if the student decides to leave he or she will be asked to pay a pro-rated amount for using the phone. In class I remember Mrs. Crawford asked if we would rather have an iPhone or a laptop, and personally I would rather have a laptop. I think if we used the iPhone for class it would be to much technology. Your iPhone is pretty much going to be the reason you pass the class. It would also take students learning how to adapt to using such a technology based cellular device. Not to mention having professors that may not even have cell phones, learning how to teach their class over a phone. Also what happens if you already have a cell phone and it’s not with AT&T. I think it’s a ridiculous idea, and is just a bribe to get you to go to their school. Personally though I wouldn't go to a school just to have an iPhone! Lol! The second story I would like to summarize and express my opinion about it “eCampus News” This article is saying how Purdue University is using online signals. When I’m saying “signals” it’s telling students if their grades are dropping, offer study-habit suggestions, and provide support. There is a green, yellow, and red light. This is meaning that green you are doing great and are at top of the class, yellow is in the middle of the class, and red is pretty much saying your failing. It helps the professors monitor the student’s behavior. I would love having the green, yellow, and red light because I would like to know how I’m doing in the class. That’s what I kind of don’t like with SAC, I wish I could have online all my grades for the class, so I can keep up to date with how I’m doing in my classes. If I had a red light I would tell myself “you need to get your head in the game” Its kind of a wake up call if you do get a red light. Personally this article I like and I wish SAC did have the online signals. Well that is how I feel about both articles!

Reflecting

I would say reflecting back on today's discussion went really good to me. Mrs. Crawford talked about the syllabus that we now have on the internet on our PALS account. The syllabus tells us what we are going to be doing for class until December 4th! It's cool that we have a syllabus because we can look and see what we'll be doing the next time we go to English class. Before this I was always texting my friend Emily from the 8am class to see what we were doing in her class today. Lol! I would say so far I've liked English class better than any of my other classes. Mrs. Crawford seems like a really cool teacher. She seems hands on, and will make sure to explain everything to us. She’s nice, laidback, and I think with her she will get us prepared for the next level of English! It seems like we're going to have lots of work, but it will keep us busy and entertained! I tend to hate boring classes a lot because I don’t focus alot. I'm kind of excited to do that essay on the comparison of Facebook and Myspace. In high school we couldn’t even have access to those sites. Lol! Also during the year we'll have alot of group presentations, and I think that's pretty cool. If you don't have chemistry with your group, most likely you'll get a bad grade. My group is Group#2, and we had our first presentation over Chapter 3. I think we did pretty good, but we could have fixed some things. It was challenging because their really wasn't that much information for 5 people to talk about different things. It seemed like we kept repeating things. It was the first presentation so their’s nothing to worry about we’ll be better prepared. I am the group leader, and I definitely think our group will win all the competitions. All the guys are hardworking, and I know that we will get all our work done. Anyways looking back I’ve enjoyed it, and can’t wait to see what’s in store!

Complaining about the grade I received!

Natalie,

Remember that essay that I had to write for my English class? I worked so hard to get a good grade on it!! You remember I did everything possible to get an A! Well today she gave us the essay back, and I got a freaking 72!! I’m so pissed off!!! I for sure I would definitely have gotten an A on it! I was having such a good day until this happened, I’m so upset! I could understand if I hadn’t tried or put forth my full effort, but I busted my butt on getting a better grade than a freaking 72! I ended up talking to her after class, and she was critiquing me on the littlest things! It ended up being that all these little things combined brought my grade to a 72! Spelling, repeating words, incorrect punctuation, and indenting! OMG!!! I can understand taking off points because of these mistakes, but 28 freaking points? Hell no! Lol! Get this, that’s what she said was the only thing wrong about my essay! My paragraphs were good, sentences were complete, good supporting details, and my essay was very focused! It sounds like by her saying this that I would have at least gotten a B+! Ugh, I swear she hates me! She is always critiquing me about my work, I feel like she just grades me harder than everybody else. It’s not fair I hate feeling like this! Mrs. Gaitan also said that we couldn’t fix our essays, and the grade stood as is! With this 72 now, it dropped me from a 91 to an 88! I still can’t get out of my head how I got deducted so many points by the simple things! I understand its college but damn! Lol! She’s such a …..!!! Whatever I’m sorry I had to text you this long text message, but I just had to let it out! Have a good rest of the day ttul!

My Writing Process

My writing process would definitely involve procrastination to the maximum. If I am given the paper to write on Monday, and it's due the following Monday, you will most likely see me writing the paper Sunday night. I have all the time to write it, it's just basically just me not in the mood to write the paper. I'll always get my work done no matter what, but I just don't like doing my work early. Their has been plenty of times where I will try to finish it early. The problem is that when I get stuck writing i'll immediately think in my head that I have a couple of days to finish it. Then I will just put all my writing away, and just wait until I feel like writing again. I get distracted very easily because of my phone, tv, music, etc. If I get a phone call or a text message, i'll just ignore the paper. I love watching sports, so if the game is on tv you won't see me anywhere except in the living room watching the game. Writing assignments are important to me it's just why do it early when I can do it at the very last second. Their is no motivation to finish it at the beginning, for me their tends to be more towards the very end, mainly because its either you finish it, or you get a zero on the paper. For example, the first blog was due Friday or early Saturday morning. I didn't end up doing the paper until 3 o'clock in the morning. Lol. It's a bad habit that I don't like, but its just something that i'll most likely never be able to break!

How do you use technology in your world?

Now in the 20th century, technology can be used in many different ways. Personally, the technology that I use is my cell phone, Ipod, computer, television, and Xbox 360. Pretty much you can always find me using my cell phone mainly because I'm always texting my buddies & girlfriend. I workout during the week to keep in shape for the fire academy, so I'm always jamming out to my Ipod. Usually when i'm at my house I'm always on the computer. Most of the time I'm on myspace talking to friends, and keep in contact with people that I hardly ever see in person. On the internet you can find out so much information about pretty much anything you want, so that is why i love getting on the computer. Also the television is another technology that I use in my world. I have satellite so I have like 600 channels, but other than the cell phone & computer, this would be the other technology that I use the most. I love to watch sports channels, and thats what the television is most likely on. Finally the last technology that I use is my xbox 360, i usually just play NCAA football, but it is the least technology I use out of the ones that i listed. The cell phone, ipod, computer, television, and Xbox 360 are definitely how I use technology in my world, and without them i have no idea what i would do!
